March 12-15th, 2015 marked the 52nd Annual Society for Photographic Educator's National Conference in New Orleans. The topic was Atmospheres: Climate, Equity, and Community in Photography. I was honored with the student award for Innovations in Imaging. It was an incredible experience and opportunity! Over 100 submissions where considered and only ten deserving students received the award, five graduates and five undergraduates. During the conference, awardees have their work specially highlighted, participate in portfolio reviews and curator walk-throughs, as well as receive a travel stipend and a complimentary year of SPE membership.
